It’s about as good as an album you can expect from the band. The band announced the concert film on social media on 6 March 2020 and was going to be shown in Australia on 3 and 4 April. The screenings were canceled because of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The film was not screened in cinemas in Australia for its limited release on 17 April 2020. However, the VOD premiere on Vimeo and subsequent theatrical release on 8 May 2021 did not meet the eligibility requirements for the Academy Awards for the category of Best Feature Film.
There is no band more unique than the Foo Fighters. The band’s unique live show is something the fans never thought they’d see. The band brings the audience onto the stage with their special live album from the band’s 2019 tour of Europe and the UK. A musical road movie was dipped in turpentine.

We’re proud of this release and love the artwork by Jason Galea. He created a fantastic piece of work, and we couldn’t be more excited to have it on this album.
My first reaction to hearing this news is to think, “wow, I hope that their album is as good as this movie.” I know how they look in person, and this is an idealized image, but they look really good, they look nice, and their performance was great.
We have no idea why the people behind the cameras seemed to have little interest in the band. But I’m glad they did the whole thing because it did capture the live essence of Gizzard perfectly. They didn’t like the idea if there was a novelty to it. This was the main reason for forming the band. They wanted to create something new and exciting that could only be found with the people who were in the band.
We wanted you to have an authentic experience of our business and culture, so we had to put you in the room with them and watch them work and communicate as you’d normally see a director, producer, or artist working. We wanted to abandon the cookie-cutter approach to using multiple cameras set up in the obvious places. Instead, we wanted to use multiple shooting angles and continuously move around each member from behind the scenes.
After seeing this band’s concert, we knew it was the most accurate representation of live music photography we’d ever seen. When you’re nervous, it’s easy to forget about the audience and focus on yourself, and that can.
Playing in the energy zone that they play in is amazing. Still, it takes an incredible talent to play at this level. It’s amazing to have seen them up close, but it’s even more amazing to have experienced their music.
I can understand what they mean. It’s one of the best scores out there. They wanted it to be very similar to Gizzard’s “Fantasia.”
