Alex LeVesque – Mentoring Gang Members

Alex Levesque – A helping hand

For this everyday hero, Alex LeVesque, owner of AMG – Automotive Mentoring Group, is helping teenagers, one corner at a time. Alex is passionate about mentoring gang members. Alex Levesque doesn’t know why God chose him for this job as a gang member mentor, but aren’t the children of his location in Chicago lucky to have such a caring person? Day after day, he drives the streets in its toughest neighborhood trying to find a youngster whose life he might change. Many of the children Alex Levesque mentors do not know who their father is nor have ever seen them.

Helping teenagers to help stop the violence

Alex Levesque says that what he does is life-saving. Moreover, what he sees every day makes him angry or using his word “Mad”. In addition, he is mad about everything he sees going on in these neighborhoods.  Helping teenagers is giving them a choice other than killing one another over simple things such as shoelaces.

“I have to share the light, that’s what I have to do” – Alex Levesque

Alex Levesque wants to give them an alternative, one of hope, a way out. In addition, Alex Levesque believes that they can get an education, have a vision come true, a home, take care of themselves and their family, and be a part of society. For him money is not the issue, it’s about saving lives by being a gang member mentor. He calls himself “a lifesaver”.

Alex discusses how important it is mentoring gang members and helping teenagers.

Mentoring gang members and helping teenagers

In conclusion, Alex Levesque wants to show the children he mentors that anything is possible. His goal of helping teenagers is to give these fatherless children the feeling of being a part of a family with the tools to create a life for themselves other than as a gang member. In short, he feels this is the only way to cure violence and make them productive citizens and fathers. Alex Levesque is definitely an everyday hero in my mind.

Note From Your Everyday Heroes

Alex Levesque if you ever read this, I hope you know, the work you’re doing has inspired hundreds of thousands of people. Early today (9/29/2021), I checked the stats on your video, and it’s been seen by over 200,000 people. That’s insane. Just flat out crazy. Your Phrase, of using the cars to get the gang members off the streets and in your garage to help teach them how to be a respected member of the community is one of the most amazing things we’ve ever come across here at Your Everyday Heroes.

We get to tell a lot of peoples stories, but just knowing that you’re out there making a difference gives up to the rest of us. If you haven’t yet watched this piece, Alex Levesque is an inspiration to us all and we’re glad to call him Your Everyday Hero. Thank You, for everything that you’ve done.
